Explanation:

Answer:

1. What reasons did the members of the Constitutional Convention have for creating the Electoral College? Use examples from your research to support your answer.

The Electoral college was made to encourage the electoral voting process in deciding a president for the nation. In elections today, the first candidate to get to 270 out of 538 votes wins the white house and the presidency along with it. It was the easiest solution to settle the debate without argument. Take for example the most recent debate, Trump .V. Biden. They used the electoral college and watched and waiting as their votes went up. The race was called at which Biden had 306 electoral votes and Trump still only had 232 and did not reach 270 while Biden exceeded it. So therefore, our new president for 2021-2024 is Joe Biden as shown from the (Electoral college process) results.

2. How have voters in America changed since the Constitution was created?

Now, everyone has the right to vote. No matter if they are black or white, or if they are a woman, they can vote. And anyone above the age of 18 also has the right to vote. So, this means with the new voting laws, MORE people will be involved in the voting process, so no one is left out and we will have the maximum number of voters possible to help the vote could pass faster and more swiftly. The bill for the right for African Americans and women to vote was passed not too long ago in 1965.

3. Should the Electoral College continue to be used? Why or why not? Use examples from your research to support your answer.

Yes, it has been a sleek-and-slick operation so far with not very many bumps in the road. I think this is an excellent system of how to settle grand debates such as this one, like decisions for the nation. It would be very difficult to vote without this system and NOT cause an argument amongst everyone. Because everyone believes what they want to believe and will keep fighting for the person that they want to win so people could argue for hours but it would be light yelling at a brick wall, it's not going to budge. And most likely we’d revert to how times were before this was made, which is having a royal heir instead. Which is even more unfair because just because they are the next in line, doesn’t mean that they will be a true and faithful leader to the nation.

The proposed group therapy aims to support battered or abused women, offering a safe space to share experiences and strategies for coping.

The necessity of such a group is underpinned by alarming statistics on domestic violence and the lack of specific support groups for this vulnerable population in our community. The group's objectives are to enhance self-esteem, increase understanding of abuse dynamics, and develop healthy coping mechanisms among participants. To achieve these, we will employ evidence-based therapeutic strategies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and trauma-focused group therapy. The group will be open to women aged 18 and above who identify as survivors of domestic abuse. Meetings will be held weekly in an easily accessible community center, ensuring privacy and comfort. As the consequences of the French and Indian war the Great Britain gained enormous territorial gains in North America, but disputes over subsequent frontier policy and paying the war's expenses led to colonial discontent, and ultimately to the American Revolution.

French and Indian war also known as the Seven Year wars began in 1754 and concluded with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The victory of the Great Britain had a significant impact on the British Empire. Britain was able expand its territorial claims in the New World. However, the cost of the war caused Britain’s national debt to increase drastically. In addition, the war generated considerable resentment among English leaders towards the colonists as they were unsatisfied with the financial and military assistance they had received from the colonists during the war.

These factors together convinced many English leaders that the colonies needed a major reorganization with central authority in London. how did the civil war influence the definition of freedom

Answers

The Civil War played a significant role in influencing the definition of freedom in the United States. Here are some key ways in which the war impacted the concept of freedom:

Emancipation of enslaved individuals: The Civil War led to the emancipation of millions of enslaved African Americans. The Emancipation Proclamation, issued by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, declared that all slaves in Confederate territory were to be set free.

This marked a significant shift in the understanding of freedom, as it directly challenged the institution of slavery and recognized the inherent right to freedom for formerly enslaved individuals.

Expansion of civil rights: The war also paved the way for the expansion of civil rights and the push for equality.

The Reconstruction era following the war saw the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment, which abolished slavery, the Fourteenth Amendment, which granted citizenship and equal protection under the law to all individuals born or naturalized in the United States, and the Fifteenth Amendment, which granted voting rights to African American men.

Redefining the role of government: The Civil War brought about a reevaluation of the relationship between the federal government and individual states. The conflict solidified the notion that the federal government had the authority and responsibility to protect individual rights and ensure freedom for all citizens.

Ongoing struggles for civil rights: While the Civil War marked a significant turning point, the struggle for true freedom and equality continued long after the war ended.

African Americans faced continued discrimination and systemic oppression through segregation, Jim Crow laws, and other forms of racial inequality. The fight for civil rights in the 20th century, including the Civil Rights Movement, aimed to address these ongoing challenges and redefine freedom in more inclusive and equitable terms.

Overall, the Civil War challenged the prevailing notions of freedom and led to important legal and societal changes that expanded the concept of freedom to include previously marginalized groups. However, the struggle for full and equal rights for all individuals continues to shape the definition of freedom in modern society.
